Conference Paper Due
General guidelines:  Please use drawings, graphs, and references to other students' contributions -- and references to the books and journal papers that were useful to you.  Idealy, your report's format should be in OpenOffice, MSWord, PDF, or RTF format.

ALSO, submit all program code that you (1) obtained or (2) developed for your project simulations.  Upload ALL program code in a SINGLE ZIP file to the "Conference Paper Program Code" Library.

DUE: Review of Instructor-Assigned Conference Papers
The author's names of the conference papers that you are to review are listed at the top of the homepage: in the "Reviewer Assignments" list.  Review Process:  Reviews should contain both positive comments and constructive criticism -- tactfully communicated!  Reviews should be clear, to-the-point, with examples to explain the reviewer's ideas.  Reviewer's identities will remain anonymous to the class (except to Mark White!).  The reviews will be graded by Mark White according to their quality and to their expected usefullness to the individuals being reviewed.

I believe that these reviews will be quite important for both the individual conducting the review and the individuals receiving the reviews.  Please do the best you can on these reviews!  If you have any questions about the review process, please use the project's discussion board or email me.

You should upload the reviews to the "Upload the reviews you WROTE" Library -- located near the top of the homepage.  IMPORTANT: APPEND a 4-digit random number to each review  filename.  This further reduces the risk that you could overwrite someone else's review!!

Download the reviews of your paper and modify your research accordingly.
Download the peer reviews of your conference paper -- that will be located in "Download Peer Reviews of YOUR Conference Paper" Library near the TOP of the homepage.

Use these reviews to improve your research: your algorithm(s), their implementation, your explanations, and your experimental validation methods.  You should indicate in your Journal paper what you have done differently in your research and write-up -- thanks to the reviewers' feedback.

Journal Paper Due
Description of a comprehensive set of experiments on ensemble (aggregation of) machine learning:  Your Abstract, Introduction, Results, Perceptive Analysis, Discussion, and Summary/Conclusion must be FIRST RATE!  Your work must address: understanding important factors that impact the performance of aggregation of machine learners, means for significantly improving such machine learning methods, implementation of such method(s), and a thorough description of the experiments that validate the usefulness of your work.

Your journal paper should exhibit significantly more progress in your understanding, analysis and experimental results than that demonstrated in your conference paper.

In addition, you should appropriately modify your learning algorithm(s) and experiments to address the reviewers' comments and questions.  You must indicate in your Journal paper what you have done differently thanks to the reviewers' feedback.

Please use drawings, graphs, and references to your classmate's contributions, as well as "external" books and journal papers that were useful to you.  The Journal Paper should be in OpenOffice, MSWord, PDF, or RTF format.  ALSO, submit ALL program code that you used and developed for your project simulations.  Be sure to upload ALL program code in a single ZIP file to the "Zip of ALL OTHER..." Library.  The ZIP file should also contain the exact versions of the code made available by the other class members and/or from the Web.
